We run a regular Mini-Forest School session as part of our Friday 'Play and Stay' which takes place at The Bridge 10am - 12 on Friday mornings. We have our own small Forest School site and every Friday - as part of the play and stay session - the children can enjoy looking after the worms in the wormery, exploring the site, looking for insects and watching out for the squirrels and birds - including our friendly robin. The sessions are very much child-led, but parents and carers take part too! (Cost for the morning is only £2 per adult and up to 2 children)
We also provide more formal Forest School sessions throughout the academic year to Year 2 children at the local Primary School. Sessions are led by Forest School practitioners. The children have the chance to connect with the natural world and are able to develop new skills. Forest School allows children the opportunity to develop self-esteem and confidence as well as having fun.
The site has been carefully designed with a small meadow area planted at the entrance, native trees such as birch and hazel and a base-camp area.
