The clocks are going back this weekend and everything feels a little bit grey and gloomy! So I’m cheering myself up by looking at the great things we have planned between now and the end of the year at The Bridge.
We’ve started planning Father Christmas’ visit to us. He comes to see our children every year and it’s so exciting to watch their faces as he arrives in the Pleasaunce on a special form of transport (after all, his reindeer need to save all their energy for the big one!). We’ve got so much planned for this year’s event – games, carol singing, a Christmas Market, face painting, arts & crafts, a tombola and of course hot chocolate, mulled wine and minced pies! And please remember, we don’t charge an entrance fee because this event is our THANK YOU for supporting us throughout the year. We also want every child to have the chance to meet Father Christmas.
This year, he’s visiting us on Sunday 8th December…you can check our website and Facebook/Instagram/Twitter for more information @TheBridgeSE10).
Put the date in your diary and let’s get our Christmas on!
And here are some other exciting things to think about:
The Bridge is so well known for it’s secure outdoor space which is great for the little ones to play in freely and unhindered. We are a great space for birthday parties because when you book with us, you get EXCLUSIVE use of the outdoor space. But we are also pretty cool to have a party at when it rains; if your kids like puddles then bring your wellies and splash away! If they prefer the dry, we have soft play and giant games you can add to the booking and we are also a great space for entertainers, workshops, arts & crafts and discos! If you’re keen to keep the cost down, you can bring your own food and party games but if convenience is a priority, we can recommend caterers, entertainment and cake makers. If you book soon for November and December, you can get a 10% discount on our indoor soft play.
As General Manager, I’ve been trying to make The Bridge accessible and open to everyone. We now have a full timetable of sessions on top of our brilliant stay & play groups (including Gardening Club, yoga, French, ballet, football and a Home Educators group) so I hope we are achieving this.
In line with our passion for the environment, we are now also hosting regular Clothes Swap events and have ‘Energy Heroes’ and ‘Sustainable Eco-Friendly Packed Lunches’ workshops coming up in November. And we will soon become a Terracycle collection point for coffee pods and baby food pouches.
We are huge supporters of Mummy’s Gin Fund and the #KNOWVEMBER initiative so we are holding a workshop with Purple Parenting on Thursday 21st November 12.30 2.30 called: “Strops, Sulks and Power Struggles Workshop – How To Deal With Them”. Go to www.mummysginfund.co.uk for more information and to buy tickets. #nomumleftbehind
If you’ve got any ideas or would like to hold a special event, we are keen to hear from you. And we would love some guest bloggers!
We hope to see you soon and thanks for your support.
